Alexandra Signs US Music Deal

It’s time to celebrate. Alexandra has signed a record deal with Epic Records.

The news was first reported by The Sun newspaper but our sources close to Alexandra have confirmed that it’s true – yippee!

Alexandra’s US deal follows hot on the heels of fellow X Factor winner, Leona Lewis. Our friends at the record company have hinted that Alexandra is set to be even bigger than Leona in the US. Let’s hope they’re right eh?

The deal follows on from her record-breaking start to her music career as her version of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah which became the fastest-selling single ever by a female artist and remained at No 1 for three weeks in the UK charts.

Epic Records is part of Sony, which in turn owns part of the company that Simon Cowell uses to manage his X Factor stars. The five-album deal with Epic will see her music career expand the pond to the US. Alexandra’s team will consist of people that have already helped to make Beyoncé and Rihanna household names. X Factor supremo, Simon Cowell, is already a well-known name in the US because of his judging role in American Idol, is set to oversee the US move.

Alexandra has been nominated for a best single Brit award for Hallelujah and her first album is expected to be released in November.
